HUGO BOSS is implementing a strict anti-counterfeiting program for both online and offline matters, including:
- Preventing counterfeit products from being offered on the market
- Detecting counterfeit products and potential network of counterfeiters
- Taking actions against the counterfeiters at any size, and
- Collaborating with stakeholders, organizations, and other brand owners.
COMMON FEATURES OF COUNTERFEITERS
Counterfeiters evolve every day to find new ways to deceive customers and to avoid being detected by brand owners. They may create a network of domain names comprising of our trademarks, design a website that looks like our official website, actively advertise on social media or marketplaces while claiming the product is genuine.
We noticed some of the common features of a counterfeiter as follows:
- The price is too good to be true: The seller may offer a price which is 50% or 70% lower than that in our official website
- The seller may claim their products are backdoor products or overruns from HUGO BOSS factories
- The seller does not provide a clear and precise identity and address and prefers to stay anonymous
- The website is poorly designed. However, do note that some fake websites are also designed in a professional way
- The seller is unable to prove the source of its products.
When customers purchase products from a seller that has some red flags as above, there might be a risk of identity/credit card theft, being scammed (i.e. you will not receive any products), or receiving counterfeit products.
Over the years, we have detected numerous fake websites, counterfeiters, and scams.
